A track classification assessor’s training weekend will be held in conjunction with an assessment of a couple of tracks in the Gardens of Stone National park.
A training course for up 6 participants will be conducted by Ian MacKinley who is our NSW track classification trainer. This training will be held over 2 days with the theory and presentation on the Saturday morning with practical training in the afternoon. The training will be applied to a real track on the Sunday to assess those that completed the training.
Over time track assessors will be working with land managers to carry out this program. Experienced 4wd are required to complete the training. Ideally assessors should have completed certified 4wd training SRODRV002B – Drive a vehicle off road. If not be planning to get certification in the near future.
At this stage we will be using the Capertee War Memorial Hall for the presentation with field work carried out in the Gardens of Stone national park. We will be camping nearby.Starting time will be 10am sharp on the Saturday February 3 and expect to finish by 3pm on the Sunday February 4.As there are costs associated with the venue and supplying materials a charge of $50 will be applicable.
This weekend will be used as an opportunity to develop a finished product to be used as a presentation at a Land Managers meeting in late April early May.We will go through the full process of assessing the specific tracks in this park, collating the information, putting together a final track assessment package and later a presentation about our capabilities, the process, the results and how we think this can be used for the benefits of the Land managers. If you wish to attend the training process over this weekend please respond to This email address is being protected from spambots.
