We hope everyone has had a great Christmas and New Year and refreshed ready for a big year of four-wheel driving. Before we continue it is with great sorrow that we have to inform you of the passing of great friend to the Four-Wheel Drive Association, Garry Weingartner, a founding member of the Newcastle and District 4WD Club. Gary was not only an active club member but also served as the Regional Secretary for many years, a service which with others, had the Council as a leading force in representing 4WDers needs and activities in the Region. For those of us who knew Gary, we were aware of his passion for driving tracks and trails and his desire to maintain access through the era of the growth of wilderness areas and restricted access. Our condolences go out to Gary's family at this time. (Thanks to the Hunter region for these excellent words)
This will be the second part of our workshop that we commenced at the August meeting at Stockton Beach. Attached is a summary of the first part, so please come along and bring an open mind so we can all work towards a better association. Remember it is probably more important to find out what we are all doing well so these things can be built on. It is easy to tell others what is wrong but not so easy to see what is OK. It would be unfortunate to lose something good because we concentrated on the things that we all know are less than perfect.
