This website does not have a photo gallery. They are of interest to us but have no real purpose. Maybe we should record what we do for land managers each time we take on an activity as simple as clearing a blocked trail or cleaning up a park or forest.
A single photo of any club activity which shows us doing some community service on its own would be easily passed over. What do you guys think about us combining all our strategic pics into an electronic brochure?

Sounds like a good idea Rob, would it be considered extending onto the Association Face Book page?
cheers

We are not good at promoting ourselves, I saw yesterday that some clubs are helping to clean up the state forests in the Port Macquarie area. The trouble is this was promoted on the State Forests facebook page and also, dare I say it Australian 4wd Action's Facebook page. But not ours as they have not told us
Have fun

Promoting the Association is something we must do, so I would support a marketing plan being developed. Lee has suggested using the facebook page, so why not start with some posts of MOU project photos showing us actually doing some work?.

This is all a good idea. Time was when we were enthusiastic about promoting ourselves at shows displays etc on a Club basis with photos. This seems to have died off in recent times probably because of the changing impact of electronics. If you don't take it on your phone it doesn't count. This exercise will also provide us with a montage of photographs for our trailers, and why not local media? As for facebook I leave it to you fellas. I stay well away from it. WHAT WE MUST DO IS ENSURE THAT THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE VETTED FIRST. Whilst Facebook provides many positive opportunities it can also exposes us to criticsm if not handled correctly.

Well I have just looked at the facebook page and it appears that our postings would have to be placed by one operator. I agree we must not stray from the plan but hell, we gotta give it a go.
Ron, your fears and mine could be overcome if the operator had to put all photo submissions past a moderator before posting. There must be a wealth of good shots of MOU jobs out there, we've had several MOUs since 2003, and whether a new super dooper one is being developed isn't a reason to do nothing.
In any case every club should have its own history recorded in its own photo pamphlet - if only to educate its own committee & members.
If Craig & Dom are on line, here's a question: How come we can't attach a photo? I do this often on similar forums but this doesn't seem to be operating.
