Hello All

I get asked by some of our club members & as well as other 4wd'ers on how certain tracks & campsites are, sometimes I know & sometimes I don't. But we all agree that it's hard to find out some information on our selected tracks/campsites sometimes! There seems to be a lack of word of mouth or information on forums these days [Yeah, sometimes for good reasons though!]

Apart from trip reports to State Forests & National Parks -
How about a thread or better still, a section on the forum where any club member can give an update on any track/campsite or anything else they have come across on their trips to give other club members a heads-up with their trip planning!

eg's could be -
- Tree across the track that can't be moved leading into Dingo Dell
- Don't use "?" campsite at the Bridle Track due to rubbish or been ripped-up, it's better to use "?" campsite
- Avoid "?" track due to water depth at Mt.Walker due to lake being full
etc,

What do you think of this basic idea?
It'll only take a minute or two to write a quick comment on a thread or destination section!

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Paul, I can see a lot of merit in your suggestion. In some way we already have that system in place its just we cant get access to it, if we could view the trip reports submitted to national parks and state forest it would be a start.

a tab on the side navigator with club trips rated and in alphabetical order should be a breeze for our It genius Dom!!!!

Hey guy's.

For any club members on this site to see other clubs trip reports to either N/P's or SF's would at least help if it could be worked on.

There's nothing worse than leading a trip for your club & coming across "What ever the issue may be?" - as those in the convoy look to you as your suppose to know of any issues that may be encounted - be that word of mouth &/or have other member passed on information. They are dissapointed when you don't know!

Anyway, I hope something can be worked on, our club president, Rory.M supports this idea for shared inter-club trip heads-up information.

Cheers,
Paul

Further tovthe campground corner cdrom, a few years back, they asked fro contributions to further the reach of this resource because as you can probably imagine, being from the ACT Landrover club, the most detailed site were those reachable from Canberra. I tried to get my club to submit, but the general response rrom some of the more narrow minded and selfish ones was that they wouldnt give away details of their "secret"spots. It was a little niaive to think that in a country of over 20 million people, that they were the only ones who knew about these spots.
Im sure that with the right sales pitch, the submissions would come thick and fast.

It's a shame there's no interest in this idea between clubs to pass on info [when needed for a heads up]

Anyway, all areas I have been since I posted this have been good with no issues to bring up for fellow traverlers.

Cheers,
Paul
