ABOUT Newcastle & Districts Four Wheel Drive Club Inc Meeting Place: Beresfield Bowling Club at 7.30pm 2nd Wednesday of the month (Except January) Newcastle and Districts Four Wheel Drive Club is a family orientated 4WD club, affiliated to the State Association, Four Wheel Drive NSW and ACT. Formed in 1978, it is one of the oldest 4WD clubs in Newcastle and the Hunter region. We promote 4WD touring as a legitimate form of recreation, to educate the public and other 4WD users in the correct use of their vehicles, in caring and respecting the environment. Trips cater for novice and experienced drivers, covering as many different aspects of four wheel driving as possible. They are held on existing roads, tracks or fire trails, over all parts of Australia and conducted in accordance with the Australian National Four Wheel Drive Council (ANFWDC) 'Codes of Conduct.' As the popularity of so called soft roader, all wheel drive vehicles has grown, we now include these on appropriate trips. It is envisaged that the number of trips suitable for all wheel drive vehicles will increase on future trip calendars according to demand.
